The Radio, Electrical and Television Retailers’ Association (RETRA) was a long-established trade association representing independent electrical retailers and servicing organisations across the UK. As part of their communications, RETRA produced a bi-monthly magazine filled with articles, industry news, and stories tailored to its membership base.
For several years, I was responsible for the complete design and production of this magazine. Each issue required careful layout planning to balance a wide variety of content, from in-depth features to shorter news items, while maintaining a clean, professional, and accessible design.
Working closely with editors and contributors, I developed a consistent visual style that reflected RETRA’s authority within the industry while keeping the content engaging and easy to navigate. Attention to detail was key, from managing typography and imagery to ensuring smooth pagination and flow across the publication.
The final result was a high-quality magazine that became a valued resource for RETRA members, strengthening the association’s communication with its network and providing an informative, visually engaging touchpoint for the industry.
